Fill Enclosure

The Space Saver Model 300H is designed for mobile SCBA and SCUBA cylinder filling. Model 300H can be installed directly onto Fire and Emergency vehicles. The fill station is designed to contain SCBA or SCUBA cylinder and metal fragments in the event of a rupture during the filling process. Model 300H utilizes an advanced horizontal design to maximize the use of critical space and allow for compartment mounting over the rear wheels. Model 300H allows the filling of two (2) SCBA or SCUBA cylinders simultaneously or individually. With our versatile optional air control panel system, the unit can be customized to fit your specific needs. Various installation options are available.

FILL ENCLOSURE


The fill station shall be designed for mobile applications and shall be incorporated into the fire apparatus body. The fill station shall be totally enclosed, constructed of 3/16 inch plate steel and designed to contain a SCBA or SCUBA cylinder and metal fragments in the event of a rupture during the fill process.


The fill station shall be designed to vent rapidly expanding air in the unlikely event of a cylinder rupture. The venting shall be through the body floor opening.


The fill station shall be ergonomically designed to allow the filling of two (2) or four (4) bottles, either separately or simultaneously. Access to the enclosure for the loading of the bottles shall be via a manually-operated slide up door and a tilt-out bottle holder. The door shall be provided with assistance devices to assure smooth operation and reduce operator fatigue.

The loading position from the compartment floor to the bottle connector shall be 14.25” in the lower holder and 22.60” in the upper holder. The maximum length of either the SCBA or SCUBA bottle with the valve and fill adapter shall be 29 inches in the lower holder and 27 inches in the upper holder. The fill station door shall be constructed of .25” stainless steel. Each fill position shall be lined with a plastic material to protect each SCBA or SCUBA cylinder from abrasion. To ensure operator protection, automatic safety interlocks that prevent SCBA or SCUBA cylinder filling until the door is completely closed shall be provided and located within the enclosure. A bottom rubber seal shall be provided to seal out road dirt.


NFPA 1901 testing certification shall have been performed with a bottom seal of the same type material and thickness.


A polypropylene base plate shall be provided in the bottom perimeter footprint to frame in the rubber seal and protect from dissimilar metal corrosion to the body.
A two (2) bottle fill enclosure shall be 43.00” high x 13.00” wide and 23.00” deep and weigh 400 lbs.


A four (4) bottle fill enclosure shall be 43.00” high x 22.00” wide and 23.00” deep and weigh 585lbs.

Principle of Operation

Thank you for choosing the Resolve Specialty Products, LLC fill panel that is mounted in your apparatus. With the proper operation and maintenance of your system, you should have many hours of trouble free service.

By following the procedures described in this booklet, you will get the most efficient use of the system. When used as a true “cascading” system, you will get from 20%- 60% more fills from your system than if you were to use the system as a bulk filling system. Bulk filling means that all banks in your system are open at one time to your fill hose and fill your SCBA cylinders until your system pressure is below the rated pressure of your SCBA cylinder being filled.

Cascading your system means that you start filling your SCBA cylinder with the bank in your system with the lowest pressure, and continue to fill with the next bank which has a higher pressure than the previous one.
